This piece was thrown by me on a pottery wheel using a smooth red clay. After the initial bisque firing, I apply a pattern with thin detailing tape by hand. Layers of a "Norwood Nutmeg" glaze are brushed on the surface, the tape removed, another round of cleanup, and then the final firing to over 2,000 degrees F (1,090 C).
