8 Ounce Space Dust Tumbler (T3)

8 Ounce Tumbler

2.75 x 3 inches (tall x wide),
7 x 8 cm (tall x wide)

This piece was thrown by me on a pottery wheel using a smooth red clay.  After the original shape firms up a bit, I apply a slip made of the same clay to add layers of texture. The clay is set to rest again until it's firm enough to trim and refine the foot to it's final shape.

The glaze is Norwood Nutmeg from Queen City Clay in Cincinnati, OH. It does amazing things with these red clays!
