Planter on Speckled Clay

This piece was thrown by me on a pottery wheel using a speckled clay (though the speckles don't appear until the final firing).  After the initial bisque firing, I apply a pattern with thin detailing tape by hand over many hours. Layers of a white glaze are applied, the tape removed, another round of cleanup, and then the final firing to over 2,000 degrees F (1,090 C).  

This piece comes with the drip plate shown and there is a drainage hole in the bottom of the planter.
