Lidded Jar with White Glaze on Speckled Clay

This piece was thrown by me on a pottery wheel using a speckled clay (though the speckles don't appear until the final firing).  After the initial bisque firing, I apply a pattern with thin detailing tape by hand over many hours. Layers of a while glaze are then brushed, the tape removed, another round of cleanup, and then the final firing to over 2,000 degrees F (1,090 C).  The final firing makes the piece water tight, food and dishwasher safe (though I would wash this piece by hand if possible.  

For you lid connoisseurs, this one has a small amount of wiggle, but doesn't impact functionality.
